The manufacture and availability of Hep C Core Antigen reagents has been restored.
Hep C Antigen assays are used for early detection, or to monitor the status of an infection, or as an aid in diagnosis of suspected Hep C Viral infections. Because of the strong agreement in performance of HCVcAg Assay and HCV RNA, the viral load has been used during this time of non-availability for confirmatory testing.
As soon as the supplies have been received, HCVcAg will be reinstated for both confirmatory testing, and in the profiles where the assay had previously been included.
