Dr Bernie Croal is a Consultant Chemical Pathologist from Aberdeen, Scotland. He has provided Clinical Biochemsitry oversight at the TDL lab in Aberdeen since 2013.

He is Clinical Director of Clinical Biochemistry for NHS Grampian based in Aberdeen and is also the Clinical Lead for the Parenteral Nutrition and Forensic Toxicology Services. His research interests cover demand optimisation, cardiac markers, nutrition and multi-centre trial support. He is the chair of the Scottish National Demand Optimisation Programme. Over the last 10 years, he has filled many roles at RCPath including Scottish Council Chair and Vice-President (2011-14). He is currently President Elect of the Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine (ACB).
