A position has arisen in our Quality Management Group (QMG) Department for a Full Time Quality Manager.

 

The role will involve administering and monitoring the Quality Management System across the TDL network of laboratories and support functions, in accordance with appropriate accreditation or regulatory bodies (e.g. UKAS, CPA, GXP, CQC etc.)

 

The successful applicant will assist in the preparation, administration, dissemination and regular review of quality manuals for the TDL laboratories, assist QMG in ensuring the Quality Management System functions correctly by helping the Director to develop, manage and maintain regular P quality meetings with key stakeholders across the organisation and ensure that processes that are required for the Quality management System are established, implemented and maintained within TDL laboratories.

 

To be considered for this position you will have experience of working in a Quality capacity within a team, carrying out audits, dealing with senior level management and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, be flexible and able to use your own initiative, as well as excellent organisation and time management skills. The role will require some travel to support the BMI and Ramsay laboratories across the country with occasional overnight stays.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking applicant to join our Senior BMS team. Applications are invited from individuals with biochemistry, or virology experience, who are willing to expand their knowledge to work within our service.

 

The Department includes two automated biochemistry laboratories, offering 24 hour services, incorporating a virology test repertoire. We also have a manual assay section, incorporating a large mass spectrometry workload, and a protein electrophoresis section.

 

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of one of the departmental sections, overseeing a team of BMS and MLA staff and ensuring targets, turn-around-times and training needs are met.

 

The department has a variety of equipment including: Roche COBAS 6000 and 8000 analysers, TOSOH G8, Abbott Architect, Sebia Hydrasys and Capilarys instruments and two tandem mass spectrometers. The laboratory has a role in maintaining Radiometer blood gas analysers in a point of care setting.

 

You will be required to participate in the analytical service across all shifts including early, late, night working and weekend cover.

Duties will include interpreting first-line results, taking appropriate actions in line with laboratory policies and procedures; handling the use and disposal of blood and body tissue in a safe manner; and ensuring that records are kept up to date and stored safely to comply with the standards of Clinical Pathology Accreditation.
