We have a vacancy for a Medical Laboratory Assistants to work within the Salford Quays laboratory at TDL Manchester on a full time, permanent basis.

 

Duties will include rotation through the laboratory performing tasks of analyser loading and maintenance, troubleshooting of analysis, and general support of laboratory functions. This will include use of point of care equipment.

 

The successful candidate will be a familiar and confident user of laboratory computer and telephone systems and maintain a good operating knowledge of analysers and equipment required for performing tasks in the laboratory.  

 

The role will be 40 hours per week plus compulsory weekend cover and overtime cover as needed in line with business requirements.

Sample Reception Officer, Permanent Post – Genetics & Molecular Pathology

  

We have a vacancy for a Full Time Sample Reception Officer in our Genetics Department at our new laboratories in the Halo Building.  This lab processes a wide range of samples for genetic testing, including none invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).

 

Duties will include receiving samples into the laboratory, entering demographics onto the LIM system (WinPath), organising and distributing samples to appropriate areas. They will receive, and where necessary, act upon, incoming calls to the laboratory and communicate with clients, either by phone or email, to resolve any discrepancies or omissions on assay request paperwork.

 

The successful candidate will be familiar with a laboratory/administration environment and be able to work to laboratory SOP’s.



The successful applicant will be expected to work from 8:30am – 5:30pm, or 9:30am to 6:30pm Mon – Fri.

Laboratory System Specialist (LIMS)

  

We have a vacancy for a Laboratory System Specialist to work in the IT Department in Central London.

 

We are a large organisation running NHS and private hospital laboratories across the UK. You will join a team of systems specialists implementing new laboratory IT systems and supporting existing sites. You will configure and support Clinisys Winpath systems, interface analysers and set up pre-analytics systems. We are looking for someone with a combination of clinical knowledge and excellent IT skills.

 

The ideal candidate will have a degree in biomedical science (IT qualifications with pathology experience also considered) and a strong understanding of pathology lab workflow and key issues. Experience working with at least one LIMS system and have experience interfacing laboratory analysers. Familiarity with SQL Server and T-SQL and a reasonable understanding of the regulations in our industry (ISO 15189, GDPR, BSQR).

 

Main duties include to be responsible for the day to day support of the TDL/HSL LIMS systems and any associated interfaces or supplementary systems including Winpath, Apex, Apollo and CoPath. You will be the central point of contact for all LIMS support issues reported to the TDL IT helpdesk to provide regular training courses for all staff to ensure best use of the LIMS products, you will maintain up to date knowledge of all new features and functions within the LIMS products and provide recommendations for future upgrades and versions and work with the QMG IT Validation team as required.
