An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Coordinator to work within the Clinical Trails Department in central London.

 

The role will involve identifying and maintaining contact with Phase I - III units as directed by the Clinical Trials Manager and Sales/Service Director.

 

Main duties will include preparation and maintenance of all documentation for ongoing clinical trial studies.  Liaison with key contact personnel of existing and future clinical research units, to ensure compliance with the relevant CPA/GLP/GCP regulations and to assist the Clinical Trials Manager in producing detailed monthly budget reports. 

  

The successful candidate will have good communication skills, a good knowledge of MS word, PowerPoint and Excel and be able to work under pressure with good organisation skills.

We currently have a vacancy for a Part Time Medical Laboratory Assistant based at our laboratory at Northwick Park Hospital.

 

Duties will include undertaking laboratory, clerical and telephone responsibilities within the Sample Reception Area. The role will also involve receiving, identifying and preparing all samples and request forms entering the department and organising their despatch, as well as the storing and retrieval of samples and liaison with appropriate departments regarding urgent samples.

 

The successful candidate will be a familiar and confident user of laboratory computer and telephone systems, maintaining an excellent operating knowledge of analysers and equipment required for performing tasks in Sample Reception, with good data entry and processing skills.

 

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 6pm – 10pm.

Biomedical Scientist, Full Time Permanent – Multidisciplinary

  

An opportunity has arisen for experienced HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists based at our pathology laboratory in Salford Quays, Manchester.  This is a multi-disciplinary role that includes Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion.

 

Duties will include the routine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various analysers, including the Roche COBAS 6000, Sysmex XT1800i, Sysmex XS1000i and Sysmex CA 540. Duties will include technical validation and clinical authorisation of results, stock control and ordering from central stores. Rotational shift patterns are in operation at the laboratory so the successful candidate will be expected to participate in these, along with compulsory weekend work and some weekday night duty.

 

The post will be on rotation of evening and late shifts with other Biomedical Scientist staff. The successful candidate will also participate in compulsory rotation to other department or training and weekend coverage in multidiscipline environment. Biochemistry experience is highly desirable.

Andrologist, Full Time, Permanent – Andrology

  

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Andrologist to work within the Andrology Department of the Doctors Laboratory located at 76 Wimpole Street.


You will be required to perform semen analysis, post vasectomy semen analysis, determination of retrograde ejaculation, reactive oxygen species analysis, sperm swim-ups etc. and preparation of samples for sperm DNA fragmentation and aneuploidy. Duties include booking appointments, preparing patient rooms, receiving, analysing and reporting the results of semen samples submitted for analysis and ensuring that the highest levels of quality and service are maintained.

Rotating between shifts:

 

7am – 4pm, 7:30am – 4:30pm, 8am – 5pm, 9am – 6pm, 10am – 7pm and 12pm – 9pm.

 

The post holder must participate in the Saturday rota (9am to 6pm) once a month minimum.

 

Involvement with Quality processes will be key, such as monitoring internal and external quality assurance schemes, ensuring optimal storage of all samples and other data as required by the CPA/TDL, and liaising with TDL’s Quality Management Group during audits and helping to implement the required action.  The role will include using computerised reporting systems 

 

Ideally, you should be an HPC-registered biomedical or clinical scientist, with a science degree or equivalent, and have experience of working within the healthcare field, with report writing experience, and be fully familiar with the purpose and day-to-day laboratory organisation of the TDL Andrology service.
