An opportunity has arisen in our Patient Services Department at 76 Wimpole Street for a Phlebotomist to cover maternity leave.

 

Duties will include the collection of venous and capillary blood samples and body fluids and swabs from patients attending The Doctors Laboratory in accordance with documented procedures. There will be participation in domiciliary visits to patients and attendance at clinics as assigned by the Patient Services Manager or Team Leader.

Cytogenetic Laboratory Assistant (Maternity Cover)

We currently have a vacancy for a Cytogenetic Laboratory Assistant to cover a 6 month period in the prenatal department of our TDL Genetics Laboratory.

 

The prenatal cytogenetic laboratory specialises in conventional and molecular constitutional prenatal diagnosis, processing in excess of 3,000 samples per annum. We also work in close conjunction with a thriving Molecular Genetics Department.

 

The successful candidate will be required to carry out technical/administrative duties required in the prenatal laboratory, to be responsible for the organisation and performance of clinical laboratory tests within target deadlines as determined by Cytogenetic DNA Services Ltd and to participate in laboratory meetings, audits and training sessions.

Senior Biomedical Scientist – Blood Transfusion (Maternity Cover)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Senior Biomedical Scientist wishing to work in pathology at our Laboratory situated within the London Independent Hospital, London, to cover maternity leave.  The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the Blood Transfusion Service.

 

Working as part of a small team, this is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills, knowledge and experience within this multidisciplinary laboratory where duties include provision of other pathology services such as Haematology and Biochemistry. As the laboratory will be run as a 24/7 service, there is a requirement for the successful applicant to participate in an overnight shift rota. Suitable candidate would live within a 30 minutes commute of the laboratory for on-call purposes. There will also be compulsory rotation to other departments.  Successful applicant will also be expected to lead in technical, compliance and training aspects of the laboratory.

 

Duties will include routine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various analysers including: Roche, Sysemx and Diamed instruments.

Duties will include working in Sample Reception, the routine operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation, technical validation and clinical authorisation of results, stock control and ordering supplies. Experience in BT would be highly regarded.

Full Time Quality Manager

A position has arisen in our Quality Management Group (QMG) Department for a Full Time Quality Manager.

 

The role will be based at our Multi-Disciplinary Laboratory in Salford Quays but with some travel expectations to our other laboratories.

 

Main duties will include administering and monitoring the quality management system within the TDL laboratories in accordance with appropriate accreditation or regulatory bodies (e.g. UKAS, CPA, CQC, MHRA, GXP etc.)

 

Other duties include; maintaining the quality policy and the quality management system within TDL laboratories, to assist with the establishment and documentation of quality objectives, including formulating a plan for achieving these objectives, to assist in the preparation, administration, dissemination and regular review of quality manuals for the TDL laboratories and to ensure that the quality management system functions correctly by managing and maintaining quality monitoring systems.

 

To be considered for this position you will have experience of working in a Quality capacity within a team, carrying out audits, dealing with senior level management and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, be flexible and able to use your own initiative, as well as excellent organisation and time management skills.
